Shipping Container

Every unit on this page is a steel dry container: a closed box with doors at one end, built to ISO dimensions so it can be lifted, stacked and moved like any other. The listings run from compact 8ft and 10ft units through the 20ft and 40ft lengths that make up most of the trade, to longer 45ft and 53ft boxes.

One-trip or used

A one-trip container has carried cargo once, from the factory, and arrives with near-new paint and floor. A used container has worked at sea and is graded on condition: cargo worthy units can still be shipped, wind and watertight units are sold for storage. Each listing states its own condition, and our condition guide sets out what each grade does and does not promise.

Choosing a size

A 20ft container holds about 33 m³; a 40ft holds roughly twice that and needs twice the standing length. High cubes add 305 mm of height. Exact figures for every size are in container sizes and on the type pages, starting with the 20ft and the 40ft.

Prices and delivery

Listed prices are per unit, in euros and excluding VAT. Delivery depends on where the container is going and how it is set down, so it is quoted separately - to your address in Europe or to a named port. Mention the listing in your enquiry and the quotation comes back with the delivered total.
