Choosing the right insulated container

Insulated containers keep temperature stable without the running cost of a refrigeration unit, which makes them a good fit for anything that needs protection from swings rather than active chilling. Most are ex-reefer shells with the machinery removed, so check whether the machinery aperture has been panelled over and whether the insulation is intact throughout. Confirm the internal dimensions — insulation takes several inches off every wall compared with a dry container of the same external size.
