Choosing the right refrigerated container

A refrigerated container is a working machine, not just an insulated box. Confirm the power requirement before you buy — most units run on three-phase power, and single-phase conversion is an extra cost. Ask whether the unit is sold running or as a non-working insulated shell, since a non-working reefer is still an excellent insulated storage box at a much lower price. Check the machinery hours, the condenser and evaporator coils, and whether the unit holds temperature at your target set point.
