New 40ft High Cube Containers

The most available new container in Europe: one-trip 40ft High Cube, 76.4 m³, current production, ready in quantity from most depots.

The 40ft High Cube dominates newbuild container production, which makes it the easiest new container to buy in quantity, in most European depots, at the most predictable price. For conversions, storage and volume freight it is the default recommendation.

A one-trip High Cube arrives with its original coating system, an unmarked 28 mm plywood floor, tight door gaskets and a valid CSC plate — and 76.4 m³ of usable volume, about 13% more than a standard-height 40ft.

Why this is the easiest new container to source in quantity

Volume. Because newbuild output and off-hire flows are both dominated by this type, a request for ten or twenty one-trip High Cubes is a routine enquiry rather than a hunt. Multi-unit orders can usually be filled from one depot, which matters more for the transport cost than most buyers expect: units from a single depot ship on consecutive loads with no repositioning.

Ordering for conversion

If the container is going to a conversion workshop, say so. It changes what matters: door end orientation, whether the gooseneck tunnel obstructs your floor build-up, colour, and whether you want vents left in or welded over. These are cheap decisions before delivery and expensive ones after.

  • Confirm the gooseneck tunnel against your floor and base design
  • Specify RAL colour at order stage if the finish is visible in the final product
  • Note any restriction on cutting the corrugation if the unit must stay certifiable
  • Ask for units from one depot and one build batch where appearance must match

Frequently asked questions

Can I order ten or twenty new 40ft High Cubes at once?
Yes, and this is the type where multi-unit orders are most straightforward. Give us the quantity and the delivery address on the RFQ; consolidating from one depot usually reduces the transport component noticeably.
Will all the units match?
Only if you ask for it. Units from a single build batch and depot will match closely; a lot assembled from several depots will not. Say on the RFQ whether appearance uniformity matters.
